NBA: Don Nelson’s Greatest Goal

Don Nelson has finally reached that goal every coach aims to achieve. He is tied with Coach Lenny Wilkens for career wins of 1,332. Not every coach in the league can attain this goal because not all coaches last long in the league and can make his team win games, but Don Nelson overcame those obstacles. He has been coaching in the NBA for more than 20 years now, and most of the teams he coached were inspired by his work ethic and his approach to the people he works with. Nelson said on an interview last Monday, “That’s really why you coach, moments like that, just a real special moment for me. I’ll remember it forever. Memories like that really make life worthwhile.”

The following game, he had a chance to be the next coach to be in the history books by winning against the Toronto Raptors, but they just got a point short from making history. He is now an icon of every coach out there giving them some inspiration and will to be a good coach they can be. Goals are not accomplished because you take them for granted, but you accomplish these goals because you work hard for them and believe that you can achieve your goal.
